Ross Swofford

Senior Research Associate I

Ross Swofford is a Senior Research Associate in the Karlsson lab. Ross earned his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2007, and has been at the Broad Institute ever since. During this time Ross has worked on the genetics of canine disease with an emphasis on cancer, as well as in support of various genome projects. Ross in interested in the processes of evolution and domestication, and how the resulting selective pressures may contribute to diseases susceptibility. Primarily a wet-lab contributor, Ross is pursuing postgraduate work in bioinformatics, with the aim of being able to contribute both in the lab and in analysis.
